Biography
The Harty laboratory combines cellular, molecular and intravital imaging approaches to address fundamental issues of immunity to infection in vivo. Specific emphasis is placed on understanding adaptive immunity to pathogens of global import such as Plasmodium, the causative agent of malaria, and influenza virus. Additional viral and bacterial infection models are used to probe basic aspects of T cell immunity to infection and vaccine-relevant concepts.
