A major focus of my lab is to determine the role of adaptive immune responses in the pathobiology of glaucoma. Our studies indicate that T-cell mediated pre-inflammatory signaling significantly contributes to progressive vision loss in the disease. Current studies are directed to further characterize the nature of cells involved and how the immune response develops.
