Desired Qualifications for Applicants to the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Immunology
Applicants to the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Immunology should have an undergraduate degree in a biology related field. The undergraduate curriculum should include basic biology and chemistry; course content that covers basic genetics, cell biology and biochemistry is also very helpful. A course or section of a course (e.g. Microbiology) that familiarizes students with basic immunology principles is valuable, but not required. In addition to a strong performance in the undergraduate curriculum (a composite and science GPA of greater than or equal to 3.0), excellent scores in the GRE are desired (Quantitative and Verbal combined score of greater than or equal to 1200; Writing score of at great than or equal to 4.0). Equally important is research experience under the direction of a faculty advisor. Research experience can be structured projects undertaken during the school year, or participation in a summer undergraduate research program commonly offered at medical campuses. Finally, three or more strong letters of recommendation by faculty members that can assess your potential as a graduate student are requested.
Applications for admissions are accepted throughout the year. Normally, students are admitted for entry into the fall semester. Please fill out our on-line pre-application form, or contact us at:
